🍽 “Why Your Diet Isn't Working: It's Not About Eating Less, It's About Eating Right”

Hi friends, it's Sue 🌿
Honestly, I used to think the only way to lose weight was to just... not eat.
I skipped breakfast, forced myself to eat tiny portions, and felt guilty even looking at carbs.
It “worked” for a while — the scale dropped. But I felt cold all the time, tired, moody, and eventually... boom, everything came back. Sometimes even more.
So I started asking myself:
“Why does this keep happening? I’m trying so hard.”
🥱 First realization: My body wasn’t the problem. My approach was.
One day I read this sentence somewhere:
“Your body is not trying to sabotage you. It’s trying to protect you.”
That hit me hard.
I wasn’t eating enough — not enough protein, not enough healthy fats, not even good carbs.
I thought I was doing the right thing by “eating less,” but I was just making myself weaker.
🥗 I slowly changed one thing at a time.
Not all at once — I knew that never worked.
-
I started with drinking more water. (Honestly? That helped my cravings a lot.)
-
Then I made sure to eat breakfast again, even just eggs and toast.
-
I swapped out instant noodles for simple home-cooked meals.
-
I tried adding more color to my plate — greens, protein, healthy fat.
And guess what? I wasn’t hungry all the time anymore.
I didn’t feel like I was fighting my body — I was actually working with it.
💬 It wasn’t perfect, but it was peaceful.
But I don’t spiral anymore. I know my body is doing its best — and now, I’m doing my best to fuel it well.
Not out of guilt. Out of care.
🍌 Today, maybe just try one swap?
If you’re feeling stuck like I was, maybe try just one small switch today:
Flavored latte → Americano
Chips → roasted sweet potato
Skipping breakfast → scrambled eggs + toast
Not to be perfect. Just... to feel better.
That’s how it started for me. And it really changed everything.
Next time, I’ll share what a full day of meals looks like for me these days — super simple but surprisingly satisfying.
Let’s eat well, move well, and be kind to ourselves 🤍
Talk soon — Sue
